Sex education, also known as sexual education, sexuality education or sex ed, is the instruction of issues relating to human sexuality, including emotional relations and responsibilities, human sexual anatomy, sexual activity, sexual reproduction, age of consent, reproductive health, reproductive rights, sexual health, safe sex and birth control.
"Sex education is essential to create healthy self-knowledge and reconciliation, healthy conversation and understanding, healthy mind-sets and lifestyles"
So it's essential to discuss about sex education and it's significance. From the very early stages we can provide sex education to students by explaining 'good touch and bad touch'.
On 27th July, the media club of MTTC has arranged an open forum on sex education. Great effort by the team!๐
We discussed various aspects of sex education and population explosion. The ideas by every one stressed the need of sex education. Attitude of society towards LGBTQ+ persons, family planning, use of contraceptives, Body shaming, self pleasure seeking etc became the areas of discussion. The role of teachers in providing sex education was highlighted during the session. I got an opportunity to share my thoughts and was happy in expressing what I feel about the topic.
Kerala Government also had such a great initiative to promote sex education among people of Kerala. 'Sex Education Kerala' provides a lot of awareness programmes to make our society a sex educated one.
Change should start from each single thought. Consider sex as apart of life. Hold self respect and mutual respect. Respect the individuality of each person. Learn to say 'No' when we are not ready for that thing. Teach our students and the new generation about these things.
Lead a happy and peaceful life!๐ค
